Two boxers leave for Russia

Sri Lanka will field two boxers Anusha Kodithuwakku and Nilmini
Jayasinghe for the AIBA International Women's boxing tournament which
will be worked off from July 7 to 12 in Petersburg, Russia.
The team will be accompanied by the Cuban coach Rafael Ramirez. The
other teams participating in this tournament are Australia, Azerbaijan,
Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Kazakhstan,
Lithuania, Moldova, Morocco, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
Thirty one year old Anusha Kodituwakku will compete in the 48 kg
light fly weight category having bagged a gold medal at the Asian
Championships held in Vietnam in 2006. In addition she won a bronze
medal at the Taiwan International tournament in 2004 and participated in
two World championships in 2006 (India) and 2008 (China) respectively.
Meanwhile twenty nine year old Nilmini Jayasinghe will compete in the
50 kg fly weight category having won a bronze medal at the 2006 Asian
championships in Vietnam. She has also participated in two World Cups in
India and China respectively.
