Thomians trounce Rajans 46-15

RUGBY: The Schools Rugby League Under-20 competition came to an end as S. Thomas' beat Dharmaraja by 46 points (4 goals, 3 tries and a penalty) to 15 (1 goal, 1 try, 1 penalty) at Mount Lavinia yesterday.

The winners led 22-5 at the breather.

The Thomians opened scoring off a penalty put over by A. Manoharan but Dharmaraja took the lead through an unconverted try scored by Chanaka Amarasinghe.

The Thomians soon got their act together and went on a try scoring spree through fly half Trishan Wickremasinghe (1), second rower Janik Jayasuriya (2), centre A. Wilwara (1), Winger Anjun Manoharan (1), Flanker R. Kodituwakku and second rower S. Jayawardena a try each. Anjun Manoharan gave the extra points for the winners while Chanaka Amarasinghe and A. Ettipola scored the tries for the Kandy School and Kanishka Kumara put over the conversion.
