Hari Kizhan wins merit medal

Chess: K. C. Harri Kizhan - a student of Kiddies Prep Nursery School, Kandy at 4 years and ten months was the youngest player at the Sri Lanka Schools Chess Tournament held at President's Girls College in Kurunegala. He also participated at the Kandy Regional District Tournament at Seeta Devi Ladies College in Kurunegala in selection trial matches.

Harri Kizhan was placed third in the selections. He participated in the under 7 age group.

He won the first match on June 19th, then the following day he played 3 matches, won two and lost one and on the final day, he played two matches and won both.

There were more than 100 students who participated in the age group and Harri Kizhan finally came 6th and a merit medal at the Sri Lanka School Chess under 7 championship.
