Kandy Film Festival to honour Malini Fonseka

Renowned actress Malini Fonseka will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the first annual Kandy International Film Festival Gala Dinner on Friday.

The international film festival is being held in Kandy from June 22 to 26. Over 15 new independent films from around the world will be making their Sri Lankan premieres at the festival.

"The Kandy International Film Festival is thrilled to have Malini Fonseka attend our inaugural gala", said Festival Director Samuel Holt. "We are honoured to celebrate her contribution to cinema in this country and her ground-breaking achievements as an actress and director", he said.

International film directors and others will also be present at the gala dinner at Thilanka Hotel, Kandy. Sri Lankan and American musicians performing include Bevis Manathunge, Simon Beins and Ethan Higbee.
