TOYP Awards : Applications close on July 29
Junior Chamber International Sri Lanka (JCI Sri Lanka) will hold the
Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of Sri Lanka Award 2011, in August
for the 31st consecutive year.
Launched in 1980, the TOYP program has recognised the talents and
achievements of many outstanding young individuals over the decades. The
JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Program recognises young people
who excel in their fields and individuals can be nominated under one of
the ten categories business accomplishments, humanitarian efforts,
outstanding leadership or medical and cultural achievements. The program
is open to those between 18 and 40.
Candidates, who wish to apply for the TOYP awards, could send in
their nominations together with the entry coupons published in daily and
weekend newspapers, from June 8, in all three languages. Completed
Nomination Forms should be sent to the Project Chairman/ TOYP 2011
Secretariat, 185/1, Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7 on or before July 29,
2011. A Copy of the Nomination Form for TOYP 2011 can be found online at

The criteria for selection will be based on noteworthy achievements
which have inspired others with a record of adherence to the principles
embodied in the JCI Creed. The general categories for submission; 1
Business, economic, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment, 2 Political,
legal, and/or public administration, 3 Academic leadership and/or
accomplishment, 4 Cultural achievement, 5 Moral and/or environmental
leadership, 6 Contribution to children, world peace, and/or human
rights, 7 Humanitarian and/or voluntary leadership 8 Scientific and/or
technological development, 9 Personal improvement and/or accomplishment,
10 Medical innovation.
