Walala A. Ratnayake Vidyalaya All-Island relay champs

Athletics: Central Province Schools performed creditably well in the
long distance relay events and Walala A. Ratnayake Vidyalaya, Kandy won
top place in both under 19 4x800 and 4x1,500 relay events at the
All-Island Relay Championships held recently at the Mahinda Rajapaksa
International Stadium in Diyagama. St. Sylvester's Kandy came second in
both relay events while Poramadalava Central College came in third in
both relays.
In the junior relay events Mahamaya College under 13 relay team won
three relays 4x50 metres, 4x100 and 4x200 metres girls events.
Girls High School, Kandy won the under 14 girls 4x200 metres relay
and was second in the 4x100 metres events.
