Kelani Cables targets Rs. 4.2 b turnover

Sri Lanka’s pioneer cable manufacturer, Kelani Cables PLC has
expanded its production of wires, cords and other copper cables which
have captured Sri Lankan and foreign markets in a big way.
The company last year recorded a turnover of Rs. 3.8 b with an export
revenue of Rs. 590 m.
Addressing a press conference in Colombo, CEO, Mahinda Saranapala
said the target is to increase turnover this year to Rs. 4.2 b.
We expect huge orders from the South African market shortly, since
their representatives are satisfied with the high quality of our
products,” General Manager, Marketing Anil Munasinghe said.
Manager, Brand Development, Channa Jayasinghe said the company
founded in 1969 has 426 workers, 5,200 dealers and 10 distributors
including in the North and the East where the company does brisk
business.
