Houses for displaced Muslims in North

An agreement related to constructing houses for the resettling Muslim
displaced people in the North was signed at the Industries and Commerce
Ministry recently.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen on behalf of the
Sri Lankan Government and Kuwait Integrated Relief Committee President
Badar Shamarook on behalf of Kuwait signed the agreement
The committee intends to construct 2,000 housing units in the North
under this project, according to Ministry sources. For the first phase
of the project, US$ 231,000 has been reserved to construct 42 housing
units. The construction work of the proposed housing scheme will
commence this week.
