COLOMBO, July 30 (AFP) - Sri Lanka Cricket on Saturday named a 16-man
squad for the Twenty20 games against Australia next month.
The teams will play two Twenty20 games on August 6 and 8 at the
newly-built Pallakelle International Stadium in the central town of
Kandy, which will also host the opening one-dayer and the second Test
match.
All-rounder Angelo Mathews got the vice-captain job, after being
overlooked for the post during the recent tour of England.Paceman Lasith
Malinga has not been included in the squad as he is nursing an injury.
He will miss Sri Lanka's two-match Twenty20 series against Australia,
starting in Pallekele on Saturday (6) after finding a place in the list
of 20 probables for the home series. The selectors hope that Malinga
would be fit for the five-match ODI series against Australia starting on
August 10.

Eranga of Chilaw Marians. Missing from the 16-member Sri Lanka squad is

squad but was overlooked for the recent ODI away series against England.
Dilruwan Perera, off-spinner and a useful bat, returns to the side after
playing his last of the four ODIs against Australia way back in
February, 2008.
The itinerary also includes a five one-day game series and three
Tests. The Test and one-day squads will be announced next month.
