Met Department better equipped to forecast weather

We have undertaken a mega project to mitigate flash flooding in Colombo. This project which is to be implemented in 2012 on a soft loan by the World Bank is expected to cost Rs.8 billion. It is implemented in collaboration with the Defence Ministry and the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation. The feasibility study for the project has already been completed by the SLLRDC.
