Anuk Fernando (80 not out) excels for the Sebs

The 62nd Battle of the Golds between Prince of Wales' and St.
Sebastian's ended in a tame draw at Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa.
Resuming at 104 for 6 on day two Sebs declared at 252 for 8 with Anuk
Fernando scoring an elegant unbeaten 80 runs with five fours, one six
and a five associated a very valuable partnership of 67 runs for the
seventh wicket with Nishamal Fernando who made 36 runs. Sachitha Fonseka
contributed 37 runs while Hashan Fernando was the pick of the bwoelrs
for Cambrians with 3 for 67.
In their second essay Cambrians lost their five top order batsmen for
59 runs and a match saving partnership for the sixth wicket between
Shanuka Dulaj with nine fours for his 71 runs and Crishen Aponsu 22 put
on 83 runs and Kusal Mendis too made 30 runs. Savitha de Mel captured 4
for 33.
Skipper of Sebs Amila Aponsu who passed the hundred wickets for the
season brought his tally to 107 wickets when he claimed 2 for 54. With
the result of this encounter Cambrians are leading with six, Sebs three
and 53 draws.
