Premier League inter-club tournament:

Liyanapathiranage - a match bag of 12 for 147

Off spinner Maduka Liyanapathiranage registered a match bag of 12 for 147 for CCC in their Sri Lanka Cricket Premier League inter-club tournament match against Panadura SC which ended in a draw at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

Twenty-year-old Liyanapathiranage followed his first innings spell of 7 for 98 with another five-wicket haul – 5 for 49. But his lone effort was insufficient for CCC to pull off an outright win.

Saracens Sports Club registered an exciting one-wicket win over Sri Lanka Navy Sports Club at Welisara yesterday. Suijeewa Liyanage (5 for 49) made a desperate attempt to turn the match in favour of the hosts but was unsuccessful. The remaining matches will continue for the third day today.
