The Kingswoodian did not have to wait for long to takeover the lead. A three quarter movement saw winger Ravindu Kumara scoring far left and try went unconverted. Kingswood 10-5.

It was the Antonian who opened scoring in the 10th minute when winger S. Niroshan found the opening and scored far left. Stand off Fazlur Rahman failed to add the extra points. St. Anthony's 5-0.

Five minutes before the breather scrum half put over 25 metre penalty for Kingswood to increase their lead to 13-5 at Lemons.

Soon after the turn around the Kingswoodians kept mounting the pressure and their opponents simply wilted.

In the 10th minute of second half continued their scoring when forward R. A. Prematillake made the break to send to centre KS to score far left which went unconverted (18-5).

The Kingswoodian scored again in the 20th minute through No. 8 Uwin Ariyaratne and too went unconverted. Kingswood led 23-5.

The Antonian reduced the lead through a try by skipper and No. 8 Pandula Angammana.

Then came the least try of the match when Kingswood's winger D. Kumara ran a good, 60 metres and scored near the posts and full back Refa Reffaideen added the extra points. Kingswood led 30-10.

Just before the final whistle Antonian prop forward scored a push over try to reduce the lead to 15-30.
