A batch of lawyers
was appointed to the National Housing Development Authority
(NHDA) to facilitate the implementation of the Janasevana
Ten million Housing Development program. Here Construction,
Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister
Wimal Weerawansa addresses the new appointees at his

Prof. Mohan
Munasinghe, co-winner of the 2007 Nobel Prize for Peace
(Vice Chair of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate
Change – IPCC AR4), was commended by the Prime Minister of
Bhutan Jigmi Y. Thinley after delivering a keynote speech at
the recent United Nations Conference on ‘Well-being and
Happiness’ in New York, sponsored by the King of Bhutan and
the Office of the UN Secretary General. Prof. Munasinghe is
also Chairman of the Munasinghe Institute for Development,
Colombo and Professor of Sustainable Development, SCI,
University of Manchester, UK.
The Colombo Kamban
Kailagam held its annual Kamban Vizha at the Ramakrishna
Mission Hall, Wellawatte recently presided over by President
of the Kalagam T. Eswaran. Here Justice J. Visvanathan
