Sri Lanka-Windies deciding third women's ODI today
The decisive third and final women's one day international between
the West Indies and touring Sri Lanka will be played at Lucas Street
today.
The three-match series is now tied one-all after Sri Lanka pulled off
a dramatic one-wicket win with two balls to spare in the second women's
ODI played at the same venue in Windward Park. It will be interesting to
see the fate of the series after Sri Lanka came back strongly to win the
second game. In the opening women's ODI played at Bridgetown, the West
Indian women had a smashing 88-4 run win.
Batting first, the West Indies women made 197 for 9 in 50 overs with
Shemaine Campbelle making a top score of 56 off 67 balls. Shashikala
Siriwardene excelled in bowling for Sri Lanka capturing 3 for 27 off 10
overs. In reply, Sri Lanka made 200 for 9 in 49.4 overs. Yasoda Mendia
top scored for the visitors with a fluent 51 off 93 balls while
Siriwardene (34) and Chamani Seneviratne (36 n.o) chipped in with some
useful contributions.
