Regent International wins inaugural 'Big Match' by 17 runs

Celebrating victory .... Regent International College players in a joyful mood after their victory in their inaugural 'Big Match' in the 'Brothers Quarrel' played on March 31 at the Bandaranayake College Grounds against Lyceum International School. The match was sponsored by Sri Lanka Telecom.

Put into bat, Regent International School made 154 in 30.3 overs with Dinuka Subasinghe making 48 and Chanaka Weerasinghe (18) and Shanka Fernando (17) making most of the runs.

Chathushka Colambage was the most successful bowler of Lyceum and he took 4 for 16 runs.

Lyceum International School could not match Regent and they were all out for 137 runs in 26.2 overs and that gave Regent International a win by 17 runs on the first innings.

The special awards were won by Ashraf Mohamed of Lyceum (Best Batsman), while Dominic Wijewickrama, Supun Rajasooriya and Shanaka Fernando of Regent won the awards for the Best Bowler, Best Fielder and Man of the Match respectively.
