International HR Conference 2012
The International HR Conference 2012, will be held on June 26 and 27
at Waters Edge based on the theme “The Evolving New HR Agenda”. It will
feature a number of mini-events including ‘The Great HR Debate’,
Business Leaders’ Forum, a Tripartite Forum and the Service Providers
Exhibition 2012, together with several technical sessions.
The HR debate will feature finalists NDB Bank and Nations Trust Bank.
The final round of ‘The Great HR Debate’ will be telecast live at the
venue. Seven teams from HR divisions from top blue chip companies in Sri
Lanka have been battling it out over the last few weeks.
The teams were from GlaxoSmithKline, No Limit, Goodhope, NDB Bank,
NTB Bank, Hirdarmani. The Conference will host a Business Leaders’ Forum
which will feature panelists. Managing Director / CEO, Lanka Harness
Company (Pvt) Limited, Rohan Pallewatta, Director Marketing, MJF Group –
Dilmah, Dilhan C. Fernando,, Director Janashakthi Insurance PLC, Ramesh
Schaffter Joint Managing Director and Brand Strategist, Triad, Dilith
Jayaweera. It will be moderated by Head of Human Resources, Royal
Ceramics, Neil Bogahalanda.
The Tripartite Forum on the topic 'Moving beyond traditional
boundaries' will focus on two key components: labour and capital. The
forum will discuss the equilibrium maintained between employers and
employees represented by employee organisations and the involvement of
the State in this regard. The panel consists of , General Secretary, Sri
Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, Leslie Devendra, Vice President, Ceylon
Workers’ Congress,K. Marimuttu, , Chief Organiser, Jathika Sevaka
Sangamaya, Suranga Naullage, President, Inter Company Employee Union,
Wasantha Samarasinghe and other Trade Union representatives. The
moderator will be IPM Past President, Jayanta Jayaratna.
Another feature of the Conference is the HR Service Providers’
Exhibition, which will be held at ‘The Eagle’, at the Waters’ Edge. The
exhibition will feature over 30 leading organisations, giving
participants an opportunity to interact with the country’s HR
fraternity. The Conference’s agenda also includes a Global HR Forum,
Business Leaders Forum, a Tripartite Forum, the HR Excellence Awards
2012 and HR Service Providers Exhibition – all focusing on the dynamic
quality of the HR discipline.
