WOW cleans beach

Women of Wallem (WOW) Sri Lanka is an organisation comprising wives of officers sailing in Wallem Lanka (WL) on ships managed by Wallem Ship management Ltd Hong Kong.

The first WOW activity in Colombo was a beach cleaning program held recently and led by the president of the Lankan WOW chapter Sonali Fernando along with the support of GM, Wallem Lanka, Sheami Dewendre. They cleaned a beach area patronised by the public in Colombo. The beach is dirty because of the rubbish inthe water.

The Navy and coast guards participated in the event. The Colombo Municipal Council also assisted by clearing the rubbish. Major General Udaya Nanayakkara and Rear Admiral Ruwan Dias also assisted in the endeavour.
