Joes in resounding 45-21 win over Antonians

St. Joseph's scored a runaway 45 points (5 goals, 2 tries) to 21 (3 goals win over St. Anthony's, Katugasthota in their Singer Schools Under-19 Rugby 'A' Division League match played at Longden Place yesterday.

The Joes dominated the first half when they went on to plant four tries scored by Kasun Sameera, Shegone de Soysa, Yohan Keyser and Rehan Thiyagarajah which the extra points came through the boot of Thiagarajah.

The winners led 26/7 at the half time After the turn over the match began under a stiff drizzle and the Joes hit back with their forwards immediately when Jason Melder crashed through to score under the post.

There after Yohan Keyser and Rehan Thiyagarajah touched down. The Anthonians reduced the gap by scoring two tries through Fazlur and Rajinda Gopinath, both were converted by L.R. Rambukwella.
