Trinity crush DSS by 76 points to 5

It was a flood of tries at Pallekele as Trinity College trounced D.S. Senanayake College by the massive margin of 76 points (3 goals, 11 tries) to 5 (1 try) in their schools under-20 Singer Shield 'A' Division rugby tournament match played at Trinity College Rugby Stadium at Pallekele yesterday. At half time Trinity College lead 51-5.

Through the Lions made many changes during the match but this could stop them from scoring tries. This match turned out to be a good warm up for the Lions before their next week's second leg of the Bradby Shield which will be played at this venue next Saturday.

Winger Dharshana Udalagama performed the hat-trick of 3 tries, but he was outshown by skipper and centre Kaneel Seneviratne who scored 4 tries. The other try score as were centre Thisila Karunatillake (2) stand off Tharinda Ratwatte (2) centre winger Mohamed Rasheed (1), lock Randika Alwis (1), flanker A.S. Frank (1) stand off Tharinda Ratwatte goaled 3 of the tries.

Having posted good score Trinity College did not attempt the kicks at goal for some of the tries. For D.S. Senanayake College centre M.S. Ratnayake scored an unconverted try.
