IEPSL convention on October 4

The Institute of Environmental Professionals Sri Lanka (IEPSL) will hold its annual convention under the theme 'Urban Regeneration and Environmental Balance' at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla, on October 4.

The Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa will be the chief guest. IEPSL President Prof. Hemanthi Ranasinghe said there will be seven technical sessions led by prominent resource persons on the subjects related to the theme and some of them are: National physical plan of Sri Lanka and urban development. Urban development policy of Sri Lanka. Towards environmentally sustainable urban development, Green building policies and sustainable development, Waste management towards a sustainable city and Making cities resilient for disasters.

It will conclude with a panel discussion.

Director General National Physical Planning Department Lakshman Jayasekera, Chairman UDA, Nimal Perera, IEPSL President and Professor in Forestry, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Prof. Hemanthi Ranasinghe, Senior Professor in Civil Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Prof. Thilan Jayasinghe, Aitken Spence Hotel Management Engineer Ravi de Silva are among the speakers.
