The Vestebeeme and Pahinpath Pelandaweeme Mangallaya (Festival) of 1000 Udarata dancers (Men and Women) was held recently at Yapahuwa Raja Maha Viharaya under the patronage of Cultural and Arts Affairs Minister T.B. Deeds were presented to 500 low income families in the Colombo city by Construc-tion, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weer-awansa at a ceremony at the Maligawatte Housing Scheme recently. The event was held to mark the World Habitat Day. Here a beneficiary receives the deed from the Minister. Colombo District MP, Thilanga Sumathipala, Colombo MMC Mohamed Muzammil, Moratuwa MMC Suresh Indika, NHDA Vice Chairman A.W. Dayanan-da, G.M. Mahinda Mudalige, Ministry Secretary K.W.P. Dayaratne and Urban Hous-ing Development Authority Chairman Palitha Gamge also participated.
