KDSDF: Member of Parliament of Kandy District Lohan Ratwatte - the
son of late General Anuruddha Ratwatte was appointed President of the
Kandy District Sports Development Foundation (KDSDF) at a meeting held
at the District Secretary's Office, Kandy last Monday.
An old boy of Trinity College, Lohan represented Trinity in athletics
and rugby football where he played as a flanker and he went on to
represent Kandy Sports Club in the Clifford Cup tournament for a number
of years. Minister of Sports Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Governor of
Central Province Tikiri Kobbekaduwa, Chief Minister of Central Provice
Sarath Ekanayake were appointed as Patrons.
Sunil Munasinghe - Former Director of Sports (CP) was appointed as
Deputy President and Director of Sports of Education Department, Kandy
Gamini Obeysekera was appointed as Sports Coordinator. Lohan Ratwatte
who was appointed President, said that he will continue the good work
done by his father and will try to improve the standard of sports in the
Kandy District.
