Trinity excels in another sport –completes hat-trick in weightlifting

WEIGHTLIFTING: The weightlifters from Trinity College completed the hat-trick by winning the weightlifting championship for the third consecutive year at the National Schools Games organised by the Ministry of Education and held at Ananda College hall last week.

Trinity College weightlifters dominated the championship by winning 7 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals.

The gold medallists were T.D. Karunatillake, K.H.B. Seneviratne, H.U. E.P. Samarasekera, J.M.S.P. Jayasundera, I.A. Rangala, S. Dissanayake and S.N. Abeywardena.

The team is coached by national weightlifting champion and SAF Games Medallist P.K.N. Dayan.
