SIA celebrates 40 years in Sri Lanka
Singapore Airlines recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of its
association with Aitken Spence PLC its GSA (General Sales Agent) in Sri
Lanka. "It has been a fruitful and deep forged relationship that has
been cemented in the long-standing history of SIA's operations to Sri
Lanka. And as part of our celebrations, we have decided to move to a new
office to further enhance our standards of service," a spokesman for the
airline said. Singapore Airlines Colombo moved to its new location on
January 14.
The guests of honour, Singapore Airlines, Regional Vice President,
West Asia and Africa Casey Owyong and Deputy Chairman Aitken Spence PLC
J M S Brito opened the new office with the traditional boiling of milk,
lighting the oil lamp and consuming milk rice.
This was followed by a lunch for the staff members at the 'Aitken
Spence Diamond Room'.
GM, SIA for Sri Lanka, Aldrin Arumugam was optimistic about the new
office and said the move will enhance service to customers and make
Singapore Airlines their favourite airline whenever they travel.
