Trinity take major honours

The Trinity - S. Thomas' school cricket encounter for the Ranil
Abeynaike Trophy ended in a draw with the Kandy school obtaining a first
innings lead at Mount Lavinia yesterday.
In reply to the Thomians first innings total of 107, Trinity gave a
strong batting display via two fine knocks by Ron Chandragupta (73) and
skipper Dinuk Wickremanayake (93) to end their first innings at 241 for
6 in 73.3 overs.
The Thomians going in for the second time with a deficit of 134 runs
were aided by two unbeaten half centuries by Thilaksha Sumanasiri (50
n.o) and skipper Javed Bongso (61).
S. Thomas': 107 and 116 for 3 at close (Thilaksha Sumanasiri 50 n.o,
Javed Bongso 61 n.o, Lakshan Jayasinghe 2 for 28).
