Gateway beat CIS to reach Basketball Final

Gateway College has reached the finals of the Under 17 Boys Colombo North Zonal Basketball tournament. Gateway has had a relatively easy ride with four convincing victories. In the group stage, Gateway beat D.S.Senanayake College 80-27, Nalanda College Colombo 63-17 and Ananda College Colombo 54-32. In the semi finals, Gateway recorded a comfortable win over Colombo International School, Colombo with a score of 76-29.

Gateway's success so far has been due to the excellent team work where many players have been in the scoring line. Melantha Jansz (98 Points from 4 games), Agbo Wijesekara, (53 Points from 4 games) Nichula Liyanage (70 Poiints from 3 games), Saptha Amarawickrama (46 Points from 4 games) Poshitha Ariyarathne (42 Points from 4 games) and Steve Fernando (24 Points from 3 games) have been among the top scorers.
