DIMO expands Mahindra tractor range

Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) will expand the range of tractors offered by Mahindra Tractors to Sri Lanka.

“Mahindra, one of the world’s largest tractor companies, has serveed Sri Lankan farmers for more than 15 years, by providing tractors and other mechanisation solutions. Mahindra tractors are used for all type of farming jobs,” a spokesman for the company said.

DIMO recently launched tractors powered with the next generation MKM (Mileage Ka Master) engine technology in Sri Lanka.

“These fuel efficient tractors have PTO HP technology making them ideal for use with Rotavators,” he said.

There are five models on offer. The 39 hp tractor is for general use. The two 45 hp models are more suited for agricultural use with modern implements. The range also offers a 49hp model for more rugged use," he said.

"The top of the range model is the 60hp 4WD tractor which is a machine for the most rugged terrain and task," the spokesman said.

"The 60hp 4WD tractors have a high performance engine. These tractors are suitable for primary and secondary tillage, livestock operations, crop protection, moving, slashing, haulage, loader applications and other basic chores on the farm," he said.

"These tractors feature suspended brake and clutch pedals and the uncluttered platform makes for easy entry and exit,” the spokesman said.
