Etisalat introduces 4G LTE-FDD

Etisalat Lanka and Alcatel-Lucent signed a joint agreement at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, to equip Sri Lanka with 4G LTE-FDD (fourth generation long-term evolution frequency-division duplexing) technology.

The technology deploys Alcatel-Lucent's ‘light radio’ solution to enhance and expand current infrastructure to provide customers with high-speed mobile broadband.

The agreement was signed by CEO, Etisalat Group, Ahmad Abdulkarim Julfar, CEO, Alcatel-Lucent, Ben Verwaayen, Director and CEO, Etisalat Lanka, Dumindra Ratnayaka and President, Alcatel-Lucent Asia Pacific, Rajeev Singh-Molares.
