Athletic Champion

Chiranga Hasith Fernando a Grade Seven student of Holy Cross College, Kalutara was adjudged Athletic Champion in the Under 11 category in 2011. In the Divisional Zonal meet in 2011, Hasith qualified to take part in the Western Province Athletic Meet. He came first in the long jump event.

He was chosen Best Athlete in the Under 11 Category at the Western Province Athletic Meet, competing with athletes from over 1,000 schools. In 2012, he emerged champion in the long jump event at the Lanka Lions Track and Field Meet at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Diyagama .
