Mobitel partners SriLankan Airlines

Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel has partnered SriLankan Airlines to introduce a system which enables customers reserve airline tickets through mobile phones.

"Expanding on Mobitel's mTicketing platform, this collaboration makes it the only entity to offer this facility in the country," a spokesman for the company said. Senior General Manager, Marketing, Mobitel, Nalin Perera said, "The mobile platform is becoming an important part of modern-day consumers on how they make transactions, purchase products and services and even connect with brands."

"The mTicketing platform has been designed specially for the Sri Lankan consumer. We already offer the reservation of train tickets, movie tickets and cricket match tickets. The addition of airline tickets to this reservation system with the national carrier is an honour for us and we look forward to working closely with them on more projects," he said.

SriLankan Airlines Chief Marketing Officer, G.T. Jeyaseelan said, "SriLankan Airlines with its partnership with Mobitel will provide a convenient ticketing option for customers, thereby offering them a smooth start for a hassle-free journey." "By implementing seamless and user-friendly mobile solutions we will continue to expand our reach with an added tweak to customer relations," he said.
