President unveils Buddha statue

The world's largest rocky statue of the Buddha built at Rambadagalle
Buddhist temple in Kurunegala will be unveiled for devotees by President
Mahinda Rajapaksa on May 21.
The Chief Incumbent of the temple Venerable Egodamulle Amaramoli
Thera, said that this sacred Buddha statue was being constructed by
Indian sculptors for a long time. President Mahinda Rajapaksa has
donated twenty million rupees for beautifying and developing the
surroundings of the temple premises, Amaramoli thera said.
