'Victorians back to school' - Sports Festival

The Past Pupils Association of the Convent of Our Lady of Victories, Moratuwa has organised once again the Popular Fellowship and Sports Festival "Victorians back to school" at the convent premises on Saturday 18th May 2013 from 8.30 am onwards.

Several exciting and entertaining non-competitive events have been lined up starting with a March Past and Drill Display.

It is a rare opportunity afforded to all past pupils both young and old, to meet, chat and bring back the happy memories of the by-gone days. Undoubtedly t would be the ideal opportunity to relax, rewind and invigorate themselves leaving a side the household chores and invoke a sense of nostalgia. All participants will be grouped into their old four houses identified by the house colours and accommodated as four separate units.

Those taking part in the events are expected to be in the school uniform (new/old/borrowed) with school tie together with canvass shoes and socks.

The organizers are taking untiring efforts to make everyone involved (without any excuses) in at least one vent or more to make them happy, carefree and cheerful.

All possible resources are raked and combined to make the event unforgettable and memorable as this may perhaps be the last to some.

Arrangements are made to invite all past superiors, principals, school heads and those who had contributed significantly to the welfare of the convent including various well wishers.

Judging from the response so far, among those confirmed participation and interested and also anxious are in the age group of 65 to 75 years. They are keen to look like the school girls they were once.Having learnt that this group is enthusiastic and delighted their children and grand children are keeping the date free to storm the public enclosure to watch their mothers and grand mothers in action, to photo graph and cheer them.

Old Boys too

Several decades ago OLV had boys too in the Kindergarten, who are now grandpas, but still in sportive spirit. Having heard of the event for the past pupils of OLV many old boys have confirmed their participation among there is a priest too.

Eventful programs has been finalised already while the organisers are taking great efforts to handle the large crowds expected.

With Music to suit the mood, refreshments in plenty to energize.

No doubt it would be a fun filled day for one all when the past pupils of the convent of Our Lady of Victories get-together on Saturday 18th May 2013 with a touch of traditional and sporty Moratuwa style.

The organisers appeal to all those who wish to participate to make known their intention to the project committee heads as soon as possible in order to make necessary arrangements in advance.
