Hutch joins JAAF to support apparel sector employees

The Sri Lanka apparel industry is a significant contributor to the national economy. A sector that has brought international recognition to the country next to Ceylon Tea and is also one of the biggest employers of manpower and skilled labour.

In recognition of the services rendered by the apparel sector, Hutch has joined a major islandwide awareness program to assist the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce to promote the apparel industry.

Through this partnership Hutch mobile services will be promoted across all 25 districts among apparel factories.

"Hutch is popular among factory level cadres due to the network's easy on the purse packages, value added facilities and features that suits employees, hassle free connectivity and clarity and islandwide presence," said CEO of Hutch, Thirukumar Nadarasa.

Hutch will play a major role in taking the industry's message to every part of the country and help mobilise more rural youth to seek employment in this sector, he said.

Hutch will join a band of top consumer brands in the country that have been selected to partner JAAF and the Industry Ministry to strengthen the apparel sector and make this industry the most sort after in the region.
