Primary schools to be developed

Eighty-three primary schools in the Kalutara district have been selected under the 'Five Thousand Primary Schools Development' project, also known as, the Child Friendly School-Development Project, to be developed. Rs 8.1 M has been allocated to develop 66 primary schools out of the 83 schools, according to the 'Kalutara District progress report issued by the Kalutara District Media Centre. According to the reports, ten schools out of the 66 in the Kalutara District face problems in carrying out the program.

Fourteen schools in the Kalutara Educational Zone, namely, seven primary schools in the Kalutara Divisional Secretariat (DS), five schools in the Beruwala DS, and two in the Panadura DS, improved at a cost of Rs. 4.1 M have shown progress.
