Fifty-year-old K.M.S. Bandara of 36, Wimalasara Road, Kalubowila,
Dehiwala is suffering at End Stage renal failure and is in urgently need
of B+ve kidney, according to Consultant Nephrologist of the National
Institute for Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation, Dr. Anura
Hewageegana. The blood group of the donour should be B or O.

Sri Geeth - Hindi musical on Aug. 31
The Hindi Musical show Sri Geeth will be held on Saturday August 31
at 4 pm at the Public Library auditorium, Colombo to mark the 37th death
anniversay of veteran Indian vocalist Chand Madhur Mukesh. Over 20
super-hits of Mukesh will be sung.
Among the vocalists are Chandra Sri, Dr. Ajith Jayaratne, Palitha
Liyanage, Manjula Bandara, Anura Amarasinghe, Clement Silva and Nadeesha
Seneviratne, with music by Gamini Perera.
Anantha Iyappa temple festival concludes on Sept.1
The annual festival of the All Ceylon Anantha Iyappa Devasthanam at
Aluthmawatha Road, Colombo 15 which commenced on August 23 will conclude
on Sunday, September 1 at 8.00 p.m.
Down Under 2013 on Sept 15

Down Under 2013, the social event organised by the Sri
Lanka-Australia Awards Alumni Association, will be held on September 15
from 10 am to 3 pm at the Sri Lanka Institute of Development
Administration grounds (SLIDA), Malalasekara Mawatha, Colombo 7.
The event is held to reconnect and build networks among Australian
government scholarship awardees and welcome home Australia Award's new
graduates to their alumni family.
The Australia Awards are prestigious international scholarships and
fellowships funded by the Australian Government. They offer the next
generation of global leaders an opportunity to undertake study, research
and professional development in Australia.
Sri Lankan awardees of Australian scholarships, past and present, can
attend the event by registering an an alumnus by visiting
www.southasiaaustraliaawardsalumni.org and confirming participation by
emailing [email protected]. Families are welcome.
The event is free for the first 150 registered alumni and their family
members. Games and activities for children and adults will be held while
refreshments will be served.

Book launch on Aug.29
Three books written by the late Amara Hewamadduma, well-known author,
former Government Agent and Secretary, Ministry of Cultural Affairs will
be launched on August 29 at 3 p.m. at the auditorium of the Chartered
Accountants Institute, Malalasekara Mawatha, Colombo 7. The books, Aloko
Udapadi Amara Samara 09 and 10 will be launched at the occasion.
It will be chaired by Kotte Sri Naga Viharadhipathi, Most Ven.
Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera while Colombo University Sinhala Division,
Prof. Sarath Wijesooriya will deliver the keynote address. Buddhist
Cultural Centre (BCC) founder and Director, Ven. Kirama Wimalajothi
Thera will be the guest of honour.
The proceedings will be conducted by veteran journalist Samudra
