NIE ties up with University of Malaya

Undergraduates of the University of Malaya with the Minister of
Education Bandula Gunawardana and Academic staff
of NIE.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed recently between the
University of Malaya and the National Institute of Education (NIE) to
exchange knowledge between the two institutions.
Vice Chancellor, University of Malaya, Dr. Ghauth Jasmon, Director
General, National Institute of Education, Professor W.M. Abeyrathna
Bandara and Senior Minister Athauda Seneviratna participated.
Six Professors from the university of Malaya and a group of
undergraduates participated in an educational tour organised by NIE, as
a signal step in the implementation of activities to raise the level of
education of the academic staff of the National Institute of Education.

Under the program a series of lectures was conducted on curriculum
development and research, for academic staff of the NIE and Education
Officers of the Ministry of Education by Professors of the University of
Malaya.
Provision has been provided for two members of the academic staff of
the NIE to pursue studies at the University of Malaya leading to a PhD. |
