HP goes for cloud-computing

HP recently launched a broad-based cloud initiative to meet the rapidly evolving cloud-computing opportunities across multiple markets.

“The initiative will empower business to ‘get it right the first time’,” a company spokesman said.

HP Enterprise Business in Asia and Emerging Countries, General Manager, Vijay Balan said, ”The cloud environment addresses the challenges of today. As Sri Lanka has a high take-up rate, popularising this initiative will be easy. The country has early adaptors to technology and 50 percent of mobile phones sold are smart phones.” Cloud computing will bring down cost and improve efficiency. HP is in the forefront of connectivity and mobility and the evolution from the main frame to cloud is the next wave of technology, he said.

“The HP cloud system is a complete, integrated, and open platform that enables enterprises and service providers to build and manage services across the board,” the spokesman said.
