Peoples' Bank raffle for children

Peoples' Bank will reward its Isuru Udana and Sisu Udana children's account holders in celebration of International Children's Day which falls on Tuesday, October 1.

Accordingly, new or existing Isuru Udana and Sisu Udana accounts holders with a minimum balance of Rs. 2,500 are entitled to win 500 children's learning laptops and 1,000 telescopes. The minimum balance has to be maintained from October 1 to November 30. Winning opportunities are multiplied with each additional Rs. 2,500 deposited in the accounts.

SLT lead sponsor of CASL

Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) will support the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) as a lead sponsor.SLT's support to the national accounting body is a strong endorsement of SLT's confidence in the professional development activities of CA Sri Lanka. SLT CEO, Lalith de Silva said.

"Sri Lanka Telecom is happy to come forward again as the Lead Sponsor for CA Sri Lanka for 2013/2014. The private sector should help expedite economic growth by working in line with the initiatives of the government," he said.

New Country Manager for Microsoft

Microsoft recorded the appointment of Imran Vilcassim as the Country Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, at their local Partner Awards last week.

General Manager, Southeast Asia at Microsoft, Jamie Harper said, "Imran is an experienced leader, having recently led our enterprise business in the region which supports some of our largest customers. His leadership will ensure that Microsoft Sri Lanka continues to support customers."

The new Country Manager will guide the company's transformation from a largely on premise software business to a devices-and-services company.
