Talking Horns on musical voyage

The Goethe Institut in Colombo has arranged a tour by the German musical group 'Talking Horns' to entertain Sri Lankan audiences with their special musical stories "from the past, present and future told in their own eloquent musical diction" to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and Germany, .

The members of Talking Horns will perform together with traditional ritual low country musicians from the Raigam tradition as well as Parai folk drummers from the Mullaitivu district.

The Talking Horns will perform at Nelum Pokuna Mawatha (Green Path), Colombo 7 on October 6 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

At the scheduled Street Festival, they will also perform with folk drummers in the Bali and Parai tradition.

The German group is scheduled to perform at Jaffna College, Vaddukodai for students on October 8. The Goethe Institut will stage a concert at the Jaffna University, Thiruneveli, Jaffna on October 8. The performance will display the artistry of 4 German musicians, four Sri Lankan folk drummers and a lot of musical communication. The Four Horns final performance will be on October 9 at St. Patrick's College, Jaffna, especially for students.
