Maliyadewa get first innings win over Rahula by two wickets

Maliyadeva College Kurunegala registered a first innings win by 8 wickets against Rahula College Matara in their under 19 cricket encounter played at the Uyanwatta stadium recently.

Harsha Rajapakshe leading the Rahula team this season won the toss in their first outing and opted to bat first. Maliyadeva’s medium fast bowlers Salinda Dassanayake (left-arm) and Keshan Wijeratne (right-arm) captured four wickets each to restrict Tshuls team to 151 in 59 overs.Rahula declared their second essay at 186/6. Kalana Hasanga (54) scored his first half ton of the season. Prabash Keppetipola captured two wickets. Maliyadeva were 63/2 at close of play with Salinda Dissanayake unbeaten on 25. Rahula: 151 in 59 overs (Harsha Rajapakse 36, Rukshan Gunawardena 23, Yasiru Hewanadugala 23 Salinda Dasanyake 4/39, Keshan Wijerathne 4/48 and 184/6 dec. in 46 overs Kalana Hasanga 54, Nimesh Hettiarachchi 44, Harsha Rajapakshe 38, Prabash Keppetipola 2/35). Maliyadeva: 152/8 dec in 57 overs (Damith Perera 40 not out, Damitha de Silva 25, Bhanuka Ranasinghe 24, Keshan Wijeratne 23 Pasan Samarathunge 3/32, Harsha Rajapakse 3/48 and 63/2 in 13 overs Salinda Dassanayake 25 not out, Bhanuka Ranasinghe 24 Yasiru Hewanadugala 1/23).
