Maliyadewa get first innings win over Rahula by two wickets

Maliyadeva College Kurunegala registered a first innings win by 8 wickets against Rahula College Matara in their under 19 cricket encounter played at the Uyanwatta stadium recently.

Harsha Rajapakshe leading the Rahula team this season won the toss in their first outing and opted to bat first. Maliyadeva’s medium fast bowlers Salinda Dassanayake (left-arm) and Keshan Wijeratne (right-arm) captured four wickets each to restrict Tshuls team to 151 in 59 overs.Rahula declared their second essay at 186/6. Kalana Hasanga (54) scored his first half ton of the season. Prabash Keppetipola captured two wickets. Maliyadeva were 63/2 at close of play with Salinda Dissanayake unbeaten on 25.
