Scrabble tourney for those over 50 years of age

The All-Island Scrabble Tournament for Senior Citizens will be conducted for the 13th consecutive year on Octoebr 27 at the Colombo Hilton Hotel.

Play will be conducted in two categories ‘A’ category for comeptitors vying for championship and the Deshabandu Clara Motwani Trophy who will use the Chambers Scrabble Dictionary 2007.

Players who prefer the old traditional style of play will be in the ‘B’ category using words from the Oxford English Dictionary only. This tournament is open for Sri Lankans over the age of 50 years.Entry forms can be obtained from Mrs. Delryn Wijesinha at 27, Ridgeway Place, Bambalapitiya (Phone 2587094) or Mrs. Indrani Atukorale, 102/1, Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7 (Phone 2696993). Entries close on October 20th. Late entries will be accepted till October 24, but a late fee of Rs. 50 will be charged.

There will be several trophies at stake and there will be merit awards, spot prizes will be given at each of the games that will be played.
