'Reflection of Sri Lanka' to showcase Lanka's potential
The 'Reflection of Sri Lanka' exhibition will be a unique opportunity
for Sri Lanka to show the world what it has become today and also what
potential the country has to offer, said Investment Promotion Minister
Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena at a media conference on the 'Reflection of
Sri Lanka' exhibition to be held parallel to the Commonwealth Heads of
Government Meeting next month.
There are really two dimensions to this exhibition. At one level,
'Reflection of Sri Lanka' exposition is an economic event to promote
three important pillars upon which the Sri Lankan economy is based:
international trade, tourism and foreign investments.
Visitors to the exhibition will see what our island nation can offer
in the key areas of the economy. They could also directly meet local
producers.
The country's potential for tourism will be given prominence, the
Minister said.
"There will be also a Board of Investment pavilion which will act as
a BOI one-stop-shop, where experienced staff will help and assist
potential investors on the modalities for starting projects in the
country," he said.
This exposition is more than just a trade exhibition as its title
indicates. Visitors to the exhibition will learn about the country's
history, culture, natural beauty, wildlife in addition to her products,
tourist sites and potential for investments.
