Prisoners' food festival at Galle Face

A food festival will be held by prisoners at the Galle Face Green in December, Prisons Reforms Minister Chandrasiri Gajadeera said.

Indigenous and international food items will be showcased at the festival. At present prisoners are trained by famous chefs from Ahungalle Hotel.

The Minister said the unique flavour of food could be relished. Prisoners are by trained to prepare various categories of food such as sweets, shorteats, Western and Eastern cuisine.

"Our aim in organising this food festival is to showcase the talents of prisoners" Minister Gajadeera said.
