Film festival to mark CHOGM

A film festival to mark the 23rd Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Sri Lanka will be held at the National Film Corporation from November 5 to 12, the CHOGM Task Force Secretariat announced.

The festival will open with the screening of "Sam's Story (Sameege Kathawa)," an award-winning Sri Lankan film directed by Priyankara Vithanachchi, featuring Jagath Chamila who had bagged the Best Actor Award at the New York City International Film Festival this year.

Films from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Seychelles, Bahamas, United Kingdom, Lesotho, Kenya, India, Tanzania and Maldives will also be screened during the festival.
