New administration for Puttalam temple

The administration of the centuries-old Puttalam Shri Muthu Mariamman temple was handed over to Hindu community of Puttalam by the M.R.M. Malik - the Divisional Secretary of Puttalam towm following a request by the wife of Subramanium Chettiyar, the longstanding trustee of the temple.

The temple, for some time, was administered by the Puttalam Young Men's Hindu Association in collaboration with Hindu Maha Sabha of Puttalam town following the death of its trustee Subramanium Chettiyar.

In 2010 an interim Board of Trustees was appointed to administer this temple with the then Chairman of the Puttalam Urban Council M.N.M. Nazmy and Divisional Secretary of Puttalam A.C.M. Nafeel.
