SriLankan Golf Classic final round today

The Final Round of the SriLankan Golf Classic 2013 is taking place
today at the Victoria Golf and Country Resort in Digana, Kandy. The
Prize Giving ceremony will encompass amateur golf players from 16
countries, including Sri Lanka.
The event is being held for the 14th year and was organized by the
National Carrier, SriLankan Airlines. This event acclaims to be one of
the most anticipated golf events in Asia. The tee-off commenced on
October 23.

An international line-up of 170 golfers were joined by 50 local
players, giving out a total of 220 keen and consistent golfers who
created a great sense of challenge whilst getting the opportunity to
enjoy four consecutive days of leisure golf on the par 73, 18 hole
course.
The tournament was played on 2 consecutive days by each player and
points were allocated by a player's Gross and Nett Stableford scores
over every two rounds.
The Victoria Course had gained a reputation as being one of the most
challenging, anticipated and best courses in the Indian sub-continent.
Golfers from countries such as the USA, UK, Japan, China, India, UAE,
Oman, Pakistan, Italy, Germany, France, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia
and Switzerland attended this year's event.
The tournament was supported by the main International Aviation
Industry sponsors, AIRBUS industries, joined by two other industry
sponsors; Lufthansa Technik and Rolls Royce, who have had supported
SriLankan Golf Classic many times before.
Mobitel supported as the Communications partners and all ground
handling for the tournament and tours were entrusted to LankaSportReizen
(LSR). Other sponsors comprised of Premadasa Jewellers and Lion
Breweries (Carslberg).
