Kaushalya wins Best Female Artiste award
"I couldn't believe my ears said Kaushalya Fonseka when she heard her
name being announced as the winner of The Best Female Artiste at a
recent felicitation for the youth in music.
"The category had five nominations and considering the experience of
the other nominees, I never thought I will end the evening by carrying
off the award. Way back in July those interested in applying were
requested to send in their song on a CD, which I did and never thought
about it after that.

as KK what was your contribution for the contest?

about relationship with one another. I created the lyrics and also the
melody. It was produced by Saranga Dinesh and recorded at Paramount
360".
Q: Is your CD of this song out for sale?
A: Unfortunately no. I'm leaving for Melbourne. I'm hoping to
record a a new CD and I'm going to include this song in that album. I
intend meeting recording secessionists to release my album on their
labels. I hope I will succeed. I have created a Facebook page called KK
Music and I hope I get interesting and advantageous come back.
Q: What about performances in Melbourne?
A: I haven't so far explored the possibility of making
contracts, but may be when I get back, I should do it.
KK is an interesting name for a singer and we hope in time to come,
she will capture a fan base who will find in her music a new trend that
needs to be followed and appreciated.
She hails from a thespian family but KK is on a path that vibrates
with music. We wish her success.
