Hamza, the only Sri Lankan in CBF Organising Committee

Abdul Quadir Hamza will be the only Sri Lankan national who will be in Sri Lanka as a member of the Organising Committee of the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF), to be held from November 12 to 14 in Colombo. Twenty-five-year-old Hamza, and old Boy of S.Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia, moved to the UK for higher studies, after completing his GCE O/L examinations. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Queen Mary University of London and serves as senior account manager for the Commonwealth business council in London.

Lake House staffer appeals for O+ kidney

Lake House staffer S.L.D. Kingsley Lal of No. 312, Attygalle, Hanwella, is at End Stage renal failure.

Consultant Nephrologist Dr. A.L.M. Nazar has recommended urgent kidney transplant, followed by regular dialysis treatment.

Kingsley Lal appeals a kind donor who is willing to donate a ‘O’ positive kidney to contact him on: 011-3156037 or on mobile 071-8037909 or 077-2806874.

Further treatment, drugs and investigations may be heavy and since he is unable to afford, appeals to the generous public to assist his cause by sending financial contributions to A/c No. 229-2-002-6-0008762 of the People’s Bank, Hanwella.


Leukaemia

A.S. Gaffoor a father of four, appeals for financial assistance for the medical treatment of his eight-year-old daughter Rikasa who is suffering from leukaemia. The child lost her mother an year ago. The treatment is available at Meenatchy Mission Hospital Madurai, India and the cost is estimated at Rs. 250,000.

O – ve kidney

W.A. Nawasiri (55), of No. 28, Beddagana Rd, Pitakotte is suffering from acute kidney disorder and the Consultant Nephrologist, Dr. C.A. Herath of the Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital has recommended immediate kidney transplant.

A donor with O-kidney could help save his life.

Room for more inmates at OMI retreat house

The Senior Citizens' Home at the OMI retreat house and farm in Andiambalama, Katunayake can accommodate a few more inmates, said the House Manager Shirley Fernando.

The house is run by the Holy Trinity Community of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement.

Rev. Fr. Tissa Balasuriya donated the ancestral property and home at Andiambalama to the OMI congregation.

The Chairman of all China Youth Federation He Junke said at the youth parliament at Sri Lanka youth centre Maharagama that the divide and rule and the divide and work for the future of the world concept was ended with the 2nd world war.

Then the imperialism was at the highest peak. With the death of the imperialism the concept of maxism, socialism and communism emerged in the world. Nationalism, Language differences and individualism are the microbes of the future golden era of the world.
