Akshana – the Outstanding Sportswoman of Mahamaya

Akshana Maralanda – who represented Sri Lanka at the 15th Asian
Junior Athletic Championships held in Sri Lanka won the award for the
Outstanding Sportswoman at the Colours Award Ceremony of Mahamaya Girls
College held at the School Auditorium on November 1.
The chief guest at the awards ceremony was Commander of the Sri Lanka
Navy Vice-Admiral Jayanath Colombage, who said it was a happy occasion
for him to be present as he was the only Commander in a Force to be
produced from a school in Kandy. He is an old boy of St. Sylvestrs
College Kandy.

On top of them all........ Akshana Maralanda who represented
Sri Lanka at the 15th Asian Junior Athletic Championships in
Sri Lanka receives the Award for the Best Sportswoman at the
Mahamaya Girls College, Kandy Colours Award Ceremony held at
the School auditorium. Associated at the ceremony was the
